Tairawhiti Museum and Art Gallery features an excellent programme of New Zealand contemporary art exhibitions and Watersheds Nga Waipuna a major new regional history exhibition including more than 280 Maori, colonial and more recent historical treasures, contemporary art works and audio-visuals. Also visit Wyliie Cottage, Gisborne's oldest wooden building, and the 'Star of Canada' maritime history museum exhibition.
